We have a warranted environment for our application running on Internet Explorer, where the lowest resolution and screen size we support is 1024*768 @ 17 inches.
However, we are all using larger monitors than this.
What I need to know is, on a 19 or 20 inch monitor, is geometrically possible to have an IE window, with a diagonal of 17 inches, within which 1024*768 pixels are viewable.
2.1 .Net will be used but isn't the main focus.
2.2 .NET 3.5 and 4.0

9. XP sp 2 on the clients. Red Hat 9 EL on the servers.
I sometimes use IE Developer Toolbar that allows me to simulate screen sizes (i.e. 1024*768), but I don't know of anything that will allow you to customize on what size monitor (diagonal).

I recommend to use a virtual machine with 1024*768 for testing.
