Test Controllers and Test Agents?
Please forgive me if this is the incorrect forum. This seemed to be the closest to my problem area.
I am in the process of creating TestComplete tests. My problem, however, lies in the area of integrating these tests with Microsoft Team System. We would like to invoke the tests from within Team System. After some research I discovered that I appear to be missing some key pieces of software: specifically, a "Test Controller" and a "Test Agent".
I'm not entirely sure where to find/install these pieces of software. Further digging appears to suggest that I need a piece of software called "Microsoft Team Test Load Agent" in order to install a controller/agent. But that's a little confusing because when I read about it I'm lead to believe that's simply for load testing, which I'm not interested in.
The upshot, however, is that I'm extremely confused. I've asked the question in the TestComplete forum, but no one seems to have an idea of what I need to do. It appears that I just need to simply install a controller and agent(s) and configure them to point to the correct test process. But I can't seem to find a controller or agent in our current software, and I'm not sure how to obtain them.
Any help/advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Test Controllers and Test Agents?
Test Controllers and Test Agents are used exclusively to execute web and performance tests and should not be required for your Test Complete scripts to run from VSTT 2008.
Are you trying to execute a test complete test on another box than the Visual Studio instance is on? (e.g. your running tests from Visual Studio on your computer but the Test Complete script needs to run on a virtual or other machine)
If I recall correctly this should not require the Visual Studio controller at all.
Which Version of Visual Studio are you trying to integrate Test Complete with? 2005 or 2008?
