I created a method under CodedUITestMethod1 (this.UIMap.InsertSymbol()). In the InsertSymbol function, I added a function AppendToTextFile()which appends text to a text file and some conditional statements. I saved everything and re-ran the script again and everything was fine.
I wanted to added another method under CodedUITestMethod1 (this.UIMap.CloseWindow()). I recorded against the application and re-ran the script the ran fine, but I noticed that my function AppendToTextFile() and the conditional statements are no longer there. Any help on this matter.
You cannot edit the designer file except by the uitest file. There are 2 ways you can edit the code you need.
1. You can use the Move Code option from the uitest file to move the code from the designer file into the .cs (if using C#) file. Then you should be able to edit the action portion of the code (not object information) in the .cs file
2. You can create a new Class file and manually pull out all the information (action code and Object Classes) from the designer that you need and place it into the new class file. Then deleting the information from the uitest file.
I personally like the second way because then I have full control over the actions and objects.
