Hi, Has anyone coded a verification routine in webtest, to verify that a pdf report returned by the server indeed matches what is expected? I would like to confirm that the scripts are working before running load tests....
Looks like I need to code it in C#, anyone already have this done? I am getting the binary returned from the server that starts with the telltale %PDF meta data....
I am very new to VS, I have used other tools more than this one and none do this task well. A lot of this depends on the security in your pdf. Can you save the pdf as a text file and then do before and after comparison between the actual and an expected copy of the text files? Or can you do a select all and then copy it into a text file? Some tools allow you do do a graphical comparison but that is problematic if the PDF has a date ... Then you may have to maintain exclusion areas.. Another method is to get a third party utility that exports the PDF to a text file. Just some ideas. Hope this helps.
