Should IIS service be restarted?
I have been doing the Performance Testing of my application. The load that I am applying is upto 500 users.
Before starting the Perf. Test is it required to restart the IIS service every time? Will it make any difference?
In real scenario IIS service will hardly be restarted; then why should we restart it before running every test?
Re: Should IIS service be restarted?
I wouldn't go as far as to say it's required, but it's probably a good idea. It's true in real life the service won't be restarted, but if you reset after each test you always have a baseline with nothing cached.
