Where at the library will the meeting be held? I'm very familiar with the area...just not the library. (Been to the gub'ment center downstairs many times...just never the library.)

I can't remember the name of the room but as you enter the library (same building as the gov't center) you'll see a little bookstore on your left and some seating in the foyer outside a conference room on the right. The library entrance is in front of you.

(The right/left above might be switched if you come up the stairs - I use the elevator)

I'm almost always there early and wandering around. I'm Jean. I look forward to meeting you.

Re: Twin Cities QAI Fed. Chapter (TCQAA) meeting

In the following thread http://www.qaforums.com/Forum24/HTML/000224.html you discussed a little bit about the price of the study guide and training opportunities as they relate to the CSQA/CSTE certifications. To that end, did you participate in the TCQAA-sponsored training? If so, how meaningful was it?

I'm trying to map out a bit of a plan for myself for this year...and I'm working on gathering information so I can make the most informed decisions that I can.

Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Twin Cities QAI Fed. Chapter (TCQAA) meeting

    Hi Jason,

Yes, I did indeed go to the training session sponsored by TCQAA. It was very helpful, and myself and the 4-5 members of the study group that I was involved with then used the class materials during our studies following the class.

I will tell you that it was a one day class, and quite intense. I understand that it used to be two days, and I wish they'd kept it at that. There was no eval of what you'd learned at the end of the class which I would have liked. I think they used to do that when it was two days.

Bottom line though is that I do believe the class is worth the $200 (TCQAA price) or $250 from QAI

If you come to TCQAA next week, we can chat more about it.

    Jason,
Sadly I won't be able to go this month after all. I've got to present my test results to the business group that day.
Do go and enjoy ! They have cookies and cheese

Guess it'll just have to be next month. And if not then, then the following month.

Re: Twin Cities QAI Fed. Chapter (TCQAA) meeting

    Jason,

I took and passed the CSTE recently (November) and did not attend the TCQAA/QAI sponsored class, or participate in a study group. After paying $250 for the application, and taking a day of vacation for the exam, I just used the study guide for reference. I've also applied to take the CSQA in March, and again, don't plan to attend the training. I'm sure it does help, but isn't essential to passing the exams.

I'm hoping to attend the TCQAA meeting tonight, but we'll see how the day goes.

    Dana

    Hello Dana.
    Congratulations on getting your certification

How was the TCQAA meeting? I had to miss it for the first time in about a year. I had to do my test results walkthru with the business group.
