For people who have conducted Formal Usability Testing I'm curious how you have ran the sessions. Mainly in regards to the use of a Facilator and Scribe and what notes each of them take. I feel like we are taking too many notes during the sessions, we bascially type everything the user says or does, and I'm wondering if there is a more effective way to capture only what we need. Or do we need all the notes to effectively eveulate the outcomes?
And part 2 is what do you provide to your clients? Do you provide them a written report or the problems with or without any charts or graphs?
Any feedback from people who have done formal Usability testing would be great!
Note taking is important point in Usability testing. You can note the situation when user gets aggressive and speaks loudly or after completing a task you can ask user what was his/her opinion. some sort of interview.
We provide users Task sheet to perform on our application. The tasks are real time scenario which are going to be happen daily on our application. Then provide questionnaires to get bias opinion about our application.
In the mean time we are capturing their facial expression as well as system working and taking notes about the statement user speaks.
