Unit testing the Web
Hey, with unit testing Iím curious: what do you all think about this for Web testing stuff. What I mean is: what types of unit testing do you consider appropriate for developers in the Web world as opposed to QA. Right now Iíve got this situation where we presented a list of good unit test techniques but the developerís are basically claiming that if they did all that, they wouldnít need us! So Iíd like to get a feel for different types of unit testing that is done for Web pages.

Actually, if they wrote perfect code, then they wouldn't need us. Unfortunately, even with peer-reviews and unit testing, bugs slip through the cracks. QA can provide a user's perspective on the application. Additionally, we test the integration of individual developers' modules with other modules in the system. We also perform performance testing, compatibility testing, security testing and usability testing on the entire web application.
