code coverage manually?
is it possible to preform a code coverage on VB application manually? or let me rephrase my qusetion, is it possible to perform a code coverage manually on any application?
Re: code coverage manually?
By "manually" do you mean "without buying a code coverage tool"?
If so, you could insert many, many functions into your VB source code which could log coverage information for you. (I wouldn't think that would be worth the effort).
By "manually" do you mean "I have my code instrumented by a code coverage tool. Can I just execute the program manually and get coverage results"?
If so, the answer is yes. You will just need to manually execute all the functionality of the application in order to gather your coverage statistics. It's probably easier if you use an automated test tool to drive your application, but it's not necessary.
If by "manually" you mean "without coding or running anything at all", then I don't see how you could do it.
