coverage tools for C/C++ on PSOS

Is there any way to do coverage analysis on realtime software running under PSOS? I am leary of instrumenting the code because (a) we are always low on memory and (b) any change in performance can change the results. We are thinking of using a simultator....

Re: coverage tools for C/C++ on PSOS

    Hello,

My old company used to use PSOS before I started. By the time I got there they were using Lynx-OS. We used a lot of GNU stuff like the c compilier, profiler and code coverage tools. Worked Ok.

We had problems when it came to device drivers and other kernel alterations. We implemented a shared memory segment that could be examined from the user space. Into this tags were written. The tags (#defined so the could be easily switched off) had a unique number and placed at strategic places within the code (all branches). A bit time consuming but a real budget option. We had masses of memory though.

I think the GNU stuff should work under PSOS anyway.

    Good luck
    Russ.
