Currently there are no sample papers to be purchased from BCS.
BCS website has "new publication coming soon".
Currently you cannot take the exam on-line at a Pro-Metric site.
A 10 am start in London is very inconvenient for anyone who is not based near London.
The only two Training Providers are based in the South East of UK.
When I rang one of the Training Providers and asked if the course (and exam) would be held near where I live (Midlands), I was told no.
I am under pressure from my employer to "get Practitioner", I do not have enough time to revise for current format on 12th Dec, besides as it is expiring I would prefer to go down the Intermediate > Test Analysis Practitioner route.
I would agree that the implementation is poor for a start up although you raise the point yourself, the old certification is still in place during the phase in of the new on (for now)
I am still unclear why anyone is under pressure to get these certifications though. The whole concept of testing certification is so relatively new and contentious, that I consider them at BEST 'Nice to haves'.
Enforcing a 'requirement' for these is, I think, an act of laziness on the part of employers. Why try to eveluate employees when you can just pigeonhole entire groups of them based on which piece of paper they hold...
