Six Sigma Certifications (Green/Yellow/Black Belt)
Hey Everyone. My first new thread so bear with me.
I wanted to get some feedback on the Six Sigma Certifications. I was considering going back to school for my Master's (Business Intelligence/Analytics) or perhaps getting some Professional Certifications...the Six Sigma Certifications.
Does anyone have any of these certifications? How valuable are they?
If anyone could provide a little info it would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't have to be anyone's life story.....just if you have any of these certifications, how helpful do you think it was in your career, and if you pursued any additional certifications.
I'm having a mid-life crisis right now and would appreciate some input to help me decide what is the best choice for me. I'm currently a QA Engineer with a Bachelor's in Information Science - Software Engineering.
The Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly in demand and operates under the supervision of a Six Sigma Black Belt, analyzes and solves quality problems, brings in savings in terms of cost and time, is involved in quality improvement projects and many more quality initiatives.
This is increasingly recognized as a must to have certification in all industry for quality professional and mid and senior management roles. Certification from MISP is considered as a benchmark of quality excellence.I think this information is helpful for you.
I got a Green Belt certification early in my career and I believe using that mindset paved the way for me to have greater opportunities. I recently obtained a Black Belt certification (10 years later) and I'd expect the same. This is in conjunction with Master of Science degrees and various post-graduate study.
The certifications and titles are nice but actually understanding and applying the material is best. Out of all of those credentials I found the Six Sigma course work to be the most applicable.
