I am aware of CSTE and CSPM being QAI certificatios. However do we also have a CSTM certification? If yes then which org gives it? I was not able to find any details about CSTM on QAI India website.
Thanks for the tip Lynne.
I am a testing professional having 3 years of relevant experience in India.
I need tips as to which organization to choose while going for certifications. Through online search I found that several orgs like QAI, IIST etc. give certications.
How do I make a choice which one to go for??
I, for one, do not believe in certification and put more weigh on experience. As for your question, contact each organization directly and look over their syllabus. The market in India is probably different that one in the US.
I am really confused.
I am from India and have been thinking of becoming a certified tester. I have two options ISTQB or QAI(CSTE)
1. CSTE costs thrice as mush as ISTQB foundation level.
2. ISTQB India website lists fewer companies as affliates compared to companies listed on QAI india website.
3. I believe QAI certification is mush older and widely recognized. QAI cover 30 countries whereas ISTQB covers just 11.
There are two major clients from business perspective of India companies. US & Europe. If your client is from US i would suggest go for QAI (CSTE) & if the client is from Europe would recommend ISTQB.
QAI is based in Orlando US & US client would preffer QAI over ISTQB. CSTE is followed by CMST which is next level of certification & needs CSTE active certificate as prerequisite.

Any certification you choose they will have only 20 % to 25 % differance in syllabus.
I have less information about ISTQB. I have already appeared for CSTE & Cleared it in Dec 2006. I am planning for CMST next year & am in my planning phase for the same.
