I am willing to appear for ISEB foundation
certification in S/W testing. I have visited the BCS site, and the fees for the same exam is 115 GBP. I have contacted one local traning centre here in India. I have received a fee structure from them and that is costing almost double round about 225 GBP. So my question to the members is that is this certification worth ? Do employers in UK ask for such sort of certification for junior level position ? What is the credibility of this certification ?
Re: ISEB Foundation Certification Software Testing
this certificate is becoming at an entry level for many organisations in the UK as a prerequisite for testers. It has over 10,000 people who are now holders so it has some validity purely in weight of numbers of testers all with the same terminolgy base.
It also now, offically recognised, as an equivilant to the ISTQB foundation certificate which is an international certificate recognised by a wide range of national software and quality professional bodies - so it is gaining some ground internationally.
If you are of the view it can add more then 225 GBP to your earnings over the course of your working career in testing or open roles that will do this, then it is worth considering it as an option, if that is your driver.
