My company just selected Mercury QTP, LoadRunner and TestDirector per my recommendation. Management, however, does not want to pay for Mercury's training. They've heard that a 3rd party Mercury-certified training would be cheaper. Does anyone have experience with this and/or know of options in the Chicago area?
Generally yes. Mercury does have have Certified Training Partners on there website. I would definitely recommend checking there. It should be located somewhere in their educational services section. This partneres have individuals that are trained or certified to teach in one or more of the areas that you expressed interest in. These may only show physical sites (on Merc's website) but I would recommend contacting a few anyway about perhaps getting an onsite individual. They may have a consultant/instructor that is local so you may be able to knock out T&E. I cannot promise that any will be cheaper as an overall solution, but I do know a lot of them also offer "mentoring" outside of just strictly Mercury training. Which, in my opinion, is a lot more helpful than just course work.
