Certifications for a manager
It's been a long time since I visited the forum. Good to see it is doing well.
I'm coming here to ask some advice.
I'm an engineering QA manager, and work in a cloud company. I have the ISEB and PRINCE2 foundation certifications.
What would you recommend I go for next?
I was thinking the next level in ISTQB or perhaps some sort of virtualisation cert? We use Selenium and Java, so perhaps a course/cert in that area would be useful?
I'm not a cert hunter. I see the value in certs from a learning perspective, and being able to demonstrate competency.
Re: Certifications for a manager
If you use Selenium and Java, and aren't proficient in Selenium and Java, then certainly some training might be in order?
If you aren't fluent in virtualization concepts while working for a cloud company, then perhaps some training might be in order?
Perhaps some management training might be useful?
Don't limit yourself to training which leads to a certification that you say you aren't hunting.
