    CSTE related information

    Hi Friends,

I am new to this forum and this is my first post:-).
I am planning to give CSTE exam from USA(my current location).I have already passed ISTQB(basic level) and have 3 years exp in software testing.

Is there any other book/reference required for the CSTE exam other than the CBOK? how many days,on an average, do we need to prepare fully before taking up the exam.
    Thanks.

    Re: CSTE related information

    Hi,

i think the Book which comes along with certification is enough if you study in depth. Also the questions are repeating so you can follow the question.
    please search the sample questions

    Thanks

    Re: CSTE related information

What you'd need is about 2 hours a day for 2 months. Do these things.

    1. Read the cbok guide. (2 readings should be ideal).
    2. See the previous question papers.
    3. Discuss topics over various forums (yahoo/google groups, even sqaforums).

Just remember that you need to master the concept and memorize what is given in the book -- Former will surely help you 99 times out of 100.

    Cheers and All the best.

kary25, how long you need to study is a personal thing.

For me, I studied for several months with a co-worker... took a review course from QAI and then studied several weeks more before I even attempted.

From my test experience, working knowledge (a.k.a. some on the job experience) is extremely helpful if not downright required.

    Re: CSTE related information

I agree with Mary and good understanding of the difference between QA and QC will help. If you are going for the CSTE certification, don't take it lightly. To keep it you will have to amass 40 Continuing Professional Education points that will have to be reported every 3 years for a total of 120 CPE's and you will need proof of the CPE's. Just so you know.

    Good luck!
    Onward thru the fog...
