How to setup Application on Eggplant
I am new to Eggplant. I have installed Eggplant on PowerMac G4 (made this as server). Along with this, I have installed VNC Server too. I am able to login to the machine from other computers within the network and able to control the server. Loaded Eggplant, had the control panel open but I am not able to start recording. Application I want to automate is also installed on Server.
Getting started Doc from Eggplant talked about SUT but till now I have been unsuccessful in doing anything with respect to Eggplant.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Re: How to setup Application on Eggplant
It should be pretty straightforward. The Getting Started guide walks you through the steps involved, but basically once you have Eggplant installed, you need to install a VNC server on the system that you'll be testing (the SUT, or system under test). You'll need to install the appropriate VNC server for that system (Mac, Linux, Windows, or whatever).
Then you should be able to enter the information about the SUT in Eggplant's Connection List (its IP address, and the port number of the VNC server). If the SUT is a Mac running Vine Server it should show up automatically. Then select the SUT in the list and click Connect.
Occasionally people need to configure a firewall that is preventing a connection from being made, but usually this isn't an issue on an internal LAN. If you still can't get it to work, contact our support team for more help (support(at)redstonesoftware(dot)com).
