How to increase field length for custom field
I have started to evaluate test link for our project. I see that the maximum allowed length for a custom field [textarea] is 255.
Is there a way to increase it. I have tried some of the suggested tweaks available on the internet, however those do not seem to work.
E.g. Updated the lines below in cfield_mgr.class.php
1: var $max_length_value=4000;
2: var $max_length_possible_values=4000;
3: const TEXTAREA_MAX_SIZE = 4000;
Do I need to perform any ALTER TABLE command in mysql as well?
I have the same problem. My requirement is to create a custom field of type - 'multiselection list'
The 255 character limit doesn't allow me to create enough possible values.
I tried changing the custom field max lengths in config.inc.php, and also the TEXTAREA_MAX_SIZE in cfield_mgr.class.php.
But, in vain.
Could someone please post the right procedure to increase the size of a custom field?
If the procedure differs for a multiselection list, please post that information too.
By the way, I'm using Testlink 1.9.9
Even I am using Testlink 1.9.9 for managing testcases in our project. We are using custom fields with multiselect. As it has limitation we are really blocked here. Please can anyone suggest a solution to increase its size.
