    2Q: Test Cases & Time-Line , Dealing with Branches

    Hello,
We are currently checking an option to use TestLink.
After installing the system we have 2 questions:

    1. Times - Is there an option to set the time it takes to run each test, so , we will be able estimate times per cicle?
In addtion - is there an option to create charts with this time-line in order to see progress by time (And say that we need more XXX human hours in order to complete the cycle)
    (Hope I'm understood)

    2. Branches - when you have a bug fix, released as a new special branch, do you create a new "build" under the current test plan and run it , or, is there additional option to deal with branches that created by R&D in order to check if a certain Bug was fixed (If the testing passed, it will be added to the Version but till then, there are different branches to be tested separately).

    Thanks
    Best Regards,
    Neta

I got answer, sharing with you:

I got some information in the TESTLINK.ORG site.
There are 2 parameters we may add in the CUSTOM FIELDS.

    1. Estimated Exec Time - we put times in this field while preparing TC and the values are being SUM automatically according to selected Tet Cases, in a specific report (Detatiled in the User Guide). I already checked it and verified it is working.

    2. Exec. Time - added by Tester during the Exec. phase, I still havn't find if this parameter can also be used in the Reports but also added this one as a Custom-Field to my Exec. phase.

    FYI

Re: I got answer, sharing with you:

It's upto you how you name the builds. The naming convention can be created in such a way that it indicates the test run against that particular build. So, you can go back and look at the reports.
