What are params when you write a TC?
I just faced an interview, which lasted 5 mins (this was the second round, first round was 35 mins).
I was asked what are the parameters, we look at when we(read I) write a test-case.
i) A test case should ensure that the application works fine as per the requirements (end user requirements)-
ii) about the traceability matrix, which maps a BR to SR to Design specification to a test-case.
iii) that I will write a positive and negative test-case for each of the scenario and will leave some comments about exploratory testing.
I asked for clarification in between and then he said it is not the "parameters for a test" i.e. parameterization using datatables in WR or the parameter to a test in TD.
The interviewer was still not satisfied.
I have been in a project-based firm since start and usually have strict deadlines. Obviously I failed - He told they needed a testing guy to take my interview. Before being sent the HR guy said that the person taking my interview was 'very very senior manager'(exact words).
I am still not clear what the correct (reasonably correct) answer should/could be.
Any thoughts(on the questions or on my approach).
