fresher needs advice
I am a 2008 engineering pass out.......I have no prior work experience....I wanted to become a manual tester now.....so I started studying about manual testing and got all the basic knowledge of manual testing concepts hang also some basic SQL queries....
1. What I need do do next?
2. When I search for jobs they are asking for minimum 4-7 years of experience. Will a fresher can't get job?
3.what is the way to get job without experience?
Which country are you in?
There are many ways to get real time experience. You could download LibreOffice which is a free software Office suite and test the application. Firefox is a Free Software where you could involve in Testing. 99tests.com is a good site for freelance testers.

We all have had manual testing experience. Some examples:
You are checking which shampoo works best for your hair type. You purchase different brands and find the best one from testing them.
When you went from crawling to walking you were testing out how to balance and deal with gravity.
When you are looking to get rid of a cold you are trying different remedies.
When you are calling a new friend you are testing that you heard the number correctly, wrote it on paper accurately, your phone works, your friends phone receives your call and that two way communication works.
i exercise my thoughts when doing some daily routine. I think of how I am testing a system. i some times write down how I would test a new pencil, or a new brand of frozen vegetables.
Also if I see something wrong in daily life, I go though the trouble of investigating. Once I find out the answer I explain that I'm starting in the testing field and I can use a letter saying that I found something wrong.
I write to plastic bag companies if the bags do not open or seal correctly, I write to the train department if a train is consistently late or I have a question about the timetable or platform labeling. I thought that the answer key was wrong for my written driving license for a question. I was the first out of thousands or millions to notice the answer was wrong.
If someone showed me a notebook with this type of findings I would see that they have a testing mind.
yeah even I use to have the same question..but some of my friends proved me wrong. They got job in Testing as fresher. They took training in Testing tools and the institute provided them placements assistance too. They got into MNC as Tester being a fresher. So no matter if you are fresher if you have talent and command over the subject then you can also get into Testing.
Choose the institute which provides placement like consultancy.
Get trained in Manual testing and tools, gain command over the subject. If you have that then you will definitely placed in a good company as tester despite of being a fresher.Chances are less for freshers so join in an institute which also provides placements.
I am not sure but I will try to answer.I have seen testing jobs for experienced candidates. If it is so, then every tester who has started their career in Testing at some moment they are also freshers. They were also suppose to start their career as fresher because everybody have to start from beginning, whatever the job or field it may be.So,I think person should have talent and skills that all matters.
Let's think "how to start" instead "Is it right to start"..Do research on testing and its tools and improve your knowledge, follow people who are already in testing and ask for suggestions.Start preparing for interviews.
You can also go with open source software testing tools if you are good at testing and its tools.Utilize them and try to test simple scenarios. You can include it as your experience(freelance).
If you want to get job in testing as a fresher then you need to be good at testing tools. You can fing many institues that provides training on testing tools.Prepare for interview questions for technical and hr round.
