Ok, this might sound a little weird but recently at an interview i was asked "What are different ways to insert text in a text field box on a web page?" and i answered
either you can copy and paste
you can type it using a keyboard
but the interviewer didnt seem satisfied with the answer and although i should have asked him the answer right there but i couldnt.
Are there any other ways to type text in a text box field besides the ones that i have described above. I am just curious.
You can use a tool like TamperIE to "pause" the HTTP post and change the data directly in the POST. The Firefox addon for the developer toolbar will allow you to change form elements, such as dropdowns, into text boxes thus allowing you to try entering any value you like.
A webpage can also have controls such as calendar controls that will populate a textbox upon selecting a value.
Depending on the interviewer's interpretation of the question, the application itself could pre-populate a textbox with data - either hard-coded or pulled from a database.
Similar to Kandru's response, Windows has on-screen keyboard functionality.
