This was an interesting interview question.. What is the diffrence between MPP(Microsoft project plan) and WBS (work breakdown structure) for which am googling from past few days now... but not got the satisfying answer.. Can anyone please help??? or share?
Below are some of my points to share:
Project Manegement Plan and WBS are the first step in the Project management.
WBS is to breaking down of the activities and to define the activities.
Project Management Plan:How work is done in the schedule and how you will divide your activities.MPP is a tool which aid in arriving project management plan.
One does not need MPP to do a project plan. Project plans existed long before Microsoft existed - and before MS created MPP. That should cause one to wonder, "Well how did the plan projects before MS?"
Regarding your question - WBS may be found in many project plans. Is a WBS always necessary? No. Can you think of reasons why WBS might not be necessary?
