I am a graduate student at the University of Houston - Clear Lake (UHCL) conducting a survey among software development professionals regarding various software process improvement models. I am collaborating with Dr. Gary Boetticher of the Software Engineering department at UHCL.
Please take a moment of your time to complete the brief survey at the link below. In exchange for completing the survey, you will be given
the opportunity to receive results of the research. All responses will be kept confidential and respondent names will not be revealed.
P.S. Please let me know if you think there are other software development professionals who would be interested in completing the
survey. Also feel free to forward this survey to anyone you feel may be interested in the subject.
I would NOT complete the survey, and not because I don't want to, but because I'm not in the target of the survey. I'm working in a TELCO, where the software development is (now) an auxiliary activity. We're buying most of software.
Anyway, I'd like to tell you that responsing (honestly) to the rurvey, a lot of informations would be necessary about the company, which is not usually held by many software development profesionals. Also, the survey doesn't look brief to me. I don't say it should be' but I'm refering to the expectations I had considering your statement.
As Daniel_S, states there is a lot to cover in the survey, it also is heavily focussed on CMM models for its classifications and codification. Though you have helpfully supplied explinations of these terms, it may lead to an abort rate - which from the way it looks like it is structured you will not capture any of that information, as people who are not using this approach or are inexperienced in it may find this off putting.
Look forward to seeing the final outputs and the statistics associated with the survey so that I can understand how to use the data in context.
