    Implemeting a Performance testing process

    Hi

Mine is a very quality concious organization and is basically a CMM shop (most of our offices have been assessed at level 5). Obviously we have welll documented processess for development and maintenance projects, and are always looking for areas of improvement in these processes. One area identified is performance testing (I use this word generically to mean performance, load, stress, volume and fail over testing). In my experience performance testing has generally been clubbed with the functional testing of a project. As a result the approach has frequently quite ad-hoc and not necessarily accurate. Many testers do not even know where to begin. I have to create and implement a peformance testing process as an extension of the existing development process in our organization. Can anybody share their experiences/documents (or links to information) in the implementation of a performance testing process?

    Thanks

Re: Implemeting a Performance testing process

My methodology has not been used in a CMM evaluated shop, so I don't know what it could evaluate to, but it has been very successful for my organization and our clients. An overview of the methodology can be found at http://www.perftestplus.com

If you think this will serve your needs, please let me know. I would be quite interested in implementing into a CMM rated organization and would be willing to help with that in some fashion.
