How to keep employee motivated for Process activities
Need your help !!!
I am in an IT organisation assessed at CMMI level 3 & ISO 9001:2008
Our Management want to bring some fun in the process activity so that team members do these activity in a motivated way & not just for audit compliance.
our focus will be on defining & implementing fun or motivational activities in following areas:
1. Project kick Off meeting
2. Unit Testing
3. Reviews (specially Code Review)
4. Test case Preparation
5. Functional & Integration Testing
6. Final Inspection
For the same I need your suggestions, as to what all activities we can do so that team member feel fun & motivated in doing all above listed activities
Thanks & regards
I think what keeps people ultimately motivated is feeling that they are important and needed, and what they do makes a difference.
I think a simple demo every few weeks to allow these behind the scenes to be demoed so the rest of the company knows what they're doing is a good way.
At a company I worked at, as part of closing a sprint, we did a feature demo, and we demoed the feature by replying the automated tests.
There are people that naturally enjoy this work. I get bored with it.
Perhaps working with the team to automate some parts would keep them involved.
Problem is that generally PM's & their development team run away from processes & documentation, they can do it only if they have some motivational factor behind it
Like if we identify the best reviewer who has find most no of valid defect & reward them, then they may be motivated to do reviewes more seriously.
So i am looking at these kind of activity, if any one can suggest few more
Kicj off meeting that we do at the beginning of the project how can we make it more interesting so that we can make them understand all process related activity in more interesting way, so that they are motivated to do that right from the begining.
I hope you understand
