Hpricot as html parser for Selenium RC/Ruby
We're using Selenium RC/Ruby for automating our tests. As a former WinRunner user I'm very impressed with this tool. Given that you have a full programming language and all it's possibilities you can automate just about anything!
As some of you may have noticed fetching data with Selenium (using IE as a browser) is extremely slow. We had to do something about this and found Hpricot which is a Ruby HTML parser. It's extremely fast, parsing a 100 row html table and perform operations/get data on each row takes about 0,3 sec.
I can recommend anyone who wants to speed up their tests to try this!
