    Parametrization in Selenium IDE

    Hi Guys,

I am testing an application with selenium IDE. My application is developed using PHP 5.0 and MySQL.
The problem is that I need to parametrize the test and am using Selenium IDE for the first time, so anybody who has prior knowledge in Selenium please do answer me on how to so that.
One more problem that I am facing is that in a particular module theres a functionality that allows the user to add text boxes, the developers have used array index bounding to handle this so for each new textbox the name is same, the problem when I test with selenium IDE is that it cannot distinguish between the text boxes as the textbox name are same and it recognises the objects thru name only.

    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Supratim.

    Re: Parametrization in Selenium IDE

post must be moved to Selenium section

at first - read reference: http://openqa.org/selenium-core/reference.html

at second - Selenium recognizes any element using any attribute, also you can use XPath

if you have to check that there are two check boxes - you can verify that first and second exist, and third do not exist

parametrization can be done using variables and javascript

Thanks for your Advice. The link that you gave is of selenium Core but I am using Selenium IDE which is a add on in Firefox.
Secondly for parametrization can I link a excel sheet and read the data. Is It possible.

I have posted it in the selenium section so you can answer me there.

Selenium IDE includes Core, so read the reference

Selenium cannot directly handle Excel - but read the Selenium forum
