How to get experience for a fresh Automated tester
I'm new in Selenium WebDriver. I'm very interested in getting experience and I need an advice.
Is it possible to find opportunities for fresh Automated tester?
Do you know resources for Automated testing like Utest for Manual testing?
Can I find somewhere an opensource project to improve my skills?
I'm trying to find the way.
Now I have 1,5 years experience as manual tester on UTest. I've read some books about Selenium WebDriver (java) and made a lot of exercises for better understanding.
I think generally most companies have something repetitive they are doing. Many automated testers I know started with an interest in programming and wrote scripts to automate their daily chores, such as regression, machine provisioning, test setup. etc... Their bosses recognized their talent and quickly moved them over to the automation team.

Its definitely a different beast from normal dev work or testing.
Let your manager/supervisor know of your future career aspirations. Let them know that you are learning on your own as of now and would want to be part of a team which would give you exposure so that you can move from Beginner to Intermediate and further to the expert level.
