How to handle these security popups in selenium RC

    Hi All,

I have few selenium scripts which have been running fine. Now when I execute the same scripts. I get few security popups and one JavaScript errors. I do not encounter them when I execute the test manually. Any suggestions:

I'm using Selenium RC/TestNG and IE 8. I also tried FF 11 and and doesn't even bring up the login screen due to following error:

qaepmstrunk uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.
The certificate is only valid for xxxxx
The certificate expired on 8/19/2008 2:13 PM. The current time is 6/12/2012 3:26 PM.

    (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

Re: How to handle these security popups in selenium RC

Tarun, I was not trying to spam the forum in anyway. Just wondering that no one else experienced this problem beside me.

Anyway, I found the workaround. You can launch the selenium server using "-trustAllSSLCertificates" and it will auto trust all certificates.

    "C:\Selenium>java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.19.0.jar -port 4441 -trustAllSSLCertificates"

Re: How to handle these security popups in selenium RC

Better you change to Selenium 2 ( Webdriver version ). This will solve all kinds of the pop up issues.

Voks. I haven't had a chance to play with the Webdriver version yet. I'm planning on spending sometime to learn it soon. Btw, what are the efforts required to migrate all RC scripts to WebDriver?

Is it better to use SeleniumBackedWebDriver or completely re-write all scripts to WebDriver syntax?

For existing scripts, you can very well use SeleniumBackedWebDriver. For new scripts, Use with the Complete WebDriver.

I've read in the past some people jerry-rigged their RC scripts with Autoit, for dismissing dialogs.
