Start with the documentation on seleniumHQ. There is enough information to get started on there - http://seleniumhq.org/docs/

Once you've have looked at that and started using selenium you will no doubt have more specific queries which there are many blogs and forums with further information on.

Re: Best way to start learning Selenium

    - Download a Selenium IDE, look at its document.
    - Get a programming book such as Java or Python etc.

You will start with recording and playing back using IDE. After a while, you will write reusable selenium code for testing.

Re: Best way to start learning Selenium

I think You first go to Selenium Document available , Then chose a language which is easy to learn (Java, C# etc).
First Try to understand what is Object , MEthode and Classes.
Then Go through how to use object Method and classes

Refer Below link to read more about object
    http://selenium.googlecode.com/svn/t...ava/index.html

Start roughly to identify objects using selenium .
    Then go through Selenium Docs

Re: Best way to start learning Selenium

    Hello Guys,

We have already posted & discussed a lot on this query as to figure out on how we can start learning and gaining expertise in Selenium.

I would like you all who are curious enough to know more about selenium and its trends to join in the online meeting group for selenium started by Tarun Kumar which has discussions on the same lines.
Also, to start off you can always go through the Selenium documentation which provides good insight on the tool.
A fair knowledge about the OOPS concept and a bit baiscs about prog. languages would suffice and help you in understanding the methodology better.

    Regards,
    Ravi Salunkhe

Re: Best way to start learning Selenium

I found "Selenium Simplified" invaluable as an aid to beginning to get to grips with Selenium. It takes you through the very first steps you need to start using Selenium and explains everything in a very basic way.

I did get confused initially as I bought the first edition which focussed on Selenium 1, which had by then been superseded by Selenium 2, but I believe the second edition is out now.
