Working with Selenium IDE using Eclipse and OC4j
I am trying to run a selenium Test from Eclipse using JAVA.
but problem is when it tries to open the firefox it asks for which user i want use (first it said the user is already in use, then i created another user and now i get this) and then it opens up fire fox but says can't find the url or something.
404 Not Found
Resource /selenium-server/core/RemoteRunner.html not found on this server
I think I need to change some setup on firefox. (i used to run selenium test but long ago and since i had to upgrade machine which took out my config changes and I don't remember them)
If some one has some doc to help me out that would be great.
Re: Working with Selenium IDE using Eclipse and OC4j
There can be many possible issues with you. I write down all the issues that I faced with their solution.
1) First of all you need to check whether your selenium RC server is compatible with your firefox version. Check your firefox version from the help tab. To check whether the selenium support this browser version or not, follow the following steps.
i) Open selenium-server.jar using winrar.
ii) Locate 2 dirs: customProfileDirCUSTFFCHROME and customProfileDirCUSTFF
iii) Recursively explore each of those dirs, and when you find a file called install.rdf drag it to some temp location, and edit the following line:
change it to:
iv) Drag the install.rdf back into the archive and overwrite the old one.
v) Do this for all the install.rdf files in those 2 dirs.
2) If your website is using the HTTPS protocolo then use the *chrome instead of *firefox in the DefaultSelenium constructor.
3) Settings does not matter in the selenium, because when it runs the test, it launches the browser without any settings. If you want that, selenium use some settings then you have to run the server is a different way. e.g. I use the following command to run my server with all SSL settings that I have made.
java -jar selenium-server.jar -firefoxProfileTemplate "D:\Documents and Settings\rizwan.akbar\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\vyec8u0e.default"
Change your profile path accordingly. If you still have any problem then post your Selenium initialization code here. I am also using the eclipse for testing and I have successfully done every thing by my own R&D. Hopefully, I wud be able to help you out.
