    How do I get points in a tree populated by EXT fw

    Our system has a tree view in the application. The application is developed using the EXT JS Framework.

    When I record a script using Selenium IDE only the click action is recorded along with the ID of the item in the tree. The problem is that the treeview will look different for each user because it is dependent on there access privileges and the last item accessed and the expanded and collapsed items will also look different.

    I would like to make my script robust enough to cater for this. So if the script needs to go to a specific sub-category in the tree. I need to check if the parent category is expanded, if it is not, expand the tree and find the sub folder and continue from there.

    Here is some sample code to indicate whether a point in the tree is expanded or collapsed:

    Expanded item:
    <div id="extdd-4" class="x-tree-node-el x-unselectable x-tree-node-expanded" unselectable="on" ext:tree-node-id="site4">
    <span class="x-tree-node-indent">
    <img class="x-tree-icon" src="images/default/s.gif"/>
    </span>
    <img class="x-tree-ec-icon x-tree-elbow-minus" src="images/default/s.gif"/>
    <img id="extdd-5" class="x-tree-node-icon siteNode" unselectable="on" src="images/default/s.gif"/>
    <a class="x-tree-node-anchor" tabindex="1" href="" hidefocus="on">
    <span id="extdd-6" unselectable="on">Channel</span>
    </a>
    </div>

    Same item collapsed:
    <div id="extdd-4" class="x-tree-node-el x-unselectable x-tree-node-collapsed" unselectable="on" ext:tree-node-id="site4">
    <span class="x-tree-node-indent">
    <img class="x-tree-icon" src="images/default/s.gif"/>
    </span>
    <img class="x-tree-ec-icon x-tree-elbow-plus" src="images/default/s.gif"/>
    <img id="extdd-5" class="x-tree-node-icon siteNode" unselectable="on" src="images/default/s.gif"/>
    <a class="x-tree-node-anchor" tabindex="1" href="" hidefocus="on">
    <span id="extdd-6" unselectable="on">Channel</span>
    </a>
    </div>

    Thanx

    Re: How do I get points in a tree populated by EXT

    I managed to find the solution on the following site: http://wiki.openqa.org/display/SIDE/...ns+and+Formats

    There is a JS extension available that caters for EXT Framework: http://wiki.openqa.org/display/SIDE/...+assert+Ext+JS

    The details can be found on this URL.
