Wireless/Authentication security testing
I'm just about to start planning for tests in a for me complete new area, wireless.
When it comes to security there are several different areas that must be covered, Data transfer, WEP key transfer, Certificates and so on. But then there is also the supplicant file system security. Since the wireless functionality will be housed in a embedded standalone product with alot of connectivity and it's easy to access, files containing WEP and certificates must not be accessed/hacked from any unauthorized.
All input on this subject is of interest.
Re: Wireless/Authentication security testing
Sounds to me like you need someone who can hack in order to test this. You should start reading up on wireless security.
I also test a wireless product and security was actually left to the programmers to test simply because the knowledge wasn't available in the testing department.
