LDAP authentication test cases - I\'m Stuck !
I'm a newbie having trouble coming up with
test cases for Netscape LDAP authentication for a http proxy.
Our company has a Netscape LDAP server with usernames/passwords already setup.
The ldap authentication dialog pops up when a user launches a Internet Browser.
I dont have a understanding of the internals of the ldap ( cn , on , etc)
I am simply testing the front end which is simply a browser proxy dialofg prompting for :
User name :
test cases :
valid name /valid pw
invalid name /valid pw
invalid name / valid invalid pw
blank name /blank password
session time out
Am I missing much ? It seems too simple.
Do I need to understand the internals of the LDAP directory to foe\rmulate test cases?
I'm also interested in Active Directory authentication test case, since our next version will also support this.
Re: LDAP authentication test cases - I\'m Stuck !
There may be other states for a username besides valid and invalid. (Perhaps "active", "revoked/suspended", and "deleted".) There may be cookies used to store username and password on the client machine. There may be logic to log all activity of login attempts. There may be logic to alter the status of a username after a certain number of incorrect passwords. There may be logic to alter the access of an IP/client after a certain number of failed login attempts.
