I'm wanting to place a small usability questionnaire on our web-site but need to make sure it does not get ignored.
Anyone else got any experience of this?

Why do you think a questionaire would provide useful info on usability of your website? Depending on how the questionaire is structured, you may limit the quality of the information you gather.
You may be able to draw useful conclusions based on a survey, but I would suggest another approach.
Get 1 to 3 people unfamiliar with your website and give them a detailed list of tasks to accomplish. Videotape the people as they work on the tasks.
Usability problems can be blatent (you'll probably get these from a survey) or subtle (you can catch these by observing users).
