capturing values from result sets
my problem is as follows, our application has couple of search fields and it generates results , now I want to be able capture those results(upon playback) and check it with the values in datasheets.Is it possible to do something like that in qa wizard 2009
I've tried using GetControlData but the Control's property type does not store the results.So I am stuck at this point ,any help is appreciated.
Re: capturing values from result sets
If you already have recorded the control, you can use 'Property'. I think the property you want is "Inner text".
var = Window("yourwindow").Control("controlname").Proper ty("Inner Text")
You can try looking at the other possible properties too, such as name, and see which one contains the data in the field during runtime. To do this, you could put in this line:
var = Window("yourwindow").EditBox("control").Property(" Inner Text")
Println("Inner text is : " + var)
Also, I learned that if the value you want is in a text string (not a field), you can use the XPATH search feature, but that's in another post.
