    entering values during playback

    Hi

Does anyone know how to enter values during playback?

basically I need to automate a search but the search string is entered by a user. if I can get this then my plan is to use external datasheets.

Im using QA Wiz 2009 pro

    Cheers,

You can use external datasheets, local datasheets or repository variables to enter values during playback.

Are you looking for an input dialog during playback?

You can use the Alert dialog and request the user input. QAWP does not have a input dialog which would pass the value into your script that I am aware of.

    Re: entering values during playback

Not sure if this is what you want, but you can create a repository variable, and then set it to prompt for user input...The issue is that it prompts upon starting the script, not in the middle of it.

In the repository, right-click on the version of the application you are using, and select properties. Then select the 'repository variables' tab. Add a variable, and select the 'prompt' checkbox.
