Please feel free to post one of your useful user created functions below.
Something like this:
<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>'=========================================== =======
' Rounding A Value
j = x mod 1 ' get the fraction portion
k = x - j ' get the non-fractional portion by subtracting the fraction
'check to see if the fractional part of the number is non-zero
'so that we can add 1 to k if there is a non-zero fraction.
if j >= .5 then
i = 1
i = 0
'y is our final answer, calculated below
y = k + i
End Function</pre><hr />
Not exactly a function but useful if your application is under development
The reported results for one run of automation can end up in 6 reports (a new message box appears, not a defect but automation stops) and way to much information for management. It is tedious to export and patch the reports from QA Wizard together for the company.
I have added the following to scripts where the println is used. We left println in order to troubleshoot easily.
'file to contain text
‘This can be a txt, csv or other file extension; if the file does not exist it will create it.
‘it only has to be added to the qawscript file in one spot
'NOTE: The NEWLINE constant is required to force subsequent output on the next line.
‘I use the 2 newlines for an additional line in the .doc file
Println("STEP: Selected items XYZ "+ NEWLINE) ‘appears in QAWP
AppendToFile(OUTFILE,"STEP: Selected items XYZ "+ NEWLINE +NEWLINE)
‘appends to the file.
In the end, I have one document and all output appended within one file.
I copy the text from the .doc to the company template and clean the .doc up for the next automation run.
