    testing performance

    Hi friends,
    this is bhasker working as a tester, i what to know that performance of any application can be done by manual testing or it may be done by automated tools ?
    if it is manual than who it can be done ?
    what are various steps to be performed for this ?

    hi.
    Let me firstly clarify what you call performance.
    The performance of an application is a time spent to perform some specific transaction, function, or similar. That description almost answering your question. Measure time spent from the beginning to the end of operation. Perform same test for reasonable amount of time and you will have initial performance metrics for this function. You can do it manually, but it seems more reasonable to automate it.
