    Manual and Automation Test Script

    Hi All QA Experts

    Iam new to the testing

After doing a bit of research on Testing scripts ( Manual test script and Automated test Script)

Manual test script is nothing but the test case
Manual test case are also called as manual test script ( no programing code involved in it)?

Automated test script is the small programing code(like vb script)which is used in automation tool to test a particular functionality

Iam worried about above sentence are correct or not? Please Correct me If iam wrong?

Why we write script manually in automation tool?
    For what type of functionalities?

If some one give me an example will be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

Re: Manual and Automation Test Script

I think of them this way.

Manual Scripts are that, something that describes how to do something manually.

Automated Scripts are run by an automation tool, they are supposed to need minimal intervention by a User.

Still your answers are just as good, so no worries.

There are multiple reasons for automation, mostly I do it in cases where I need to run a specific test on a consistent basis and I can have a tool run it and get me results. There are multiple books on the subject, including ones by contributors here (Elfriede Dustin comes to mind), I'd suggest reading up more on automation if you need to understand more.
