Test plan for website
Hi to all QA experts,
I need to test basic functionality for single web page of a web site. Would somebody be so kind to share his/her experience regarding writing test plan for that kind of testing. I've been writing test plans for whole application but what would be approach in the case of single web page? It has all common functionality(ex: search, links to other pages,...).
Thanks in advance.
Re: Test plan for website
If you are well versed in test planning for a large application then you should be equally capable of writing a test plan for a single page, the principles are the same.
You need to decide the objectives/scope of the test, e.g. functionality, scalability etc. Determine what the acceptance criteria are, and design the test cases accordingly.
I would guess from the fact that you are being asked to test a single page that it is fairly integral to the operation of the organisation you work for (e.g. sales/ordering page). If this is the case then you will probably need to do a fair amount of negative testing and possibly boundary values etc.
If you want more details then repost with more specific questions, hope it helps
