Relation of ISO/IEC 12207 and ISO/IEC 15504(SPICE)
ISO/IEC 12207 (Standard for Software Life Cycle). Is it like ISO 9001 that if we perform all practice of that standard we will be called ISO/IEC 12207 certifyed?
Is ISO/IEC 15504 SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) for assessing the ISO 12207 Standard or somthing else?
Can anyone describe please?
Re: Relation of ISO/IEC 12207 and ISO/IEC 15504(SP
They are really 3 different types of standards.
ISO 9001 is about quality MANAGEMENT systems. When you are audited, you can be accredited (not certified) to ISO9001.
ISO 12207 describes software lifecycle PROCESSES. There is no certification or accreditation for this standard.
ISO 15504 describes process ASSESSMENT for any process reference model, of which ISO 12207 is one and ISO 152288 is another. When you are assessed you receive a process capability rating for each process assessed. This is no certification or accreditation either, but a new part of the standard will change this soon.
