    How to execute UAT research?

    Hello,

I work in a big company where we have more than one hundred applications. We try to introduce a common methodology for User Acceptance Tests. Now we would like to research the individual applications - whether they already started to use the new methodology or they have their own (provided by supplier of the individual applications) or they just test ad hoc etc.
The problem is how to execute the research so that we get the best results. As we have limited time and resources for the research, we will not meet with the representatives of the applications but only ask them to fill in some kind of questionnaire (that may be quite large).
Can you give me some advice on "how to ask to get the answers I need"?
My boss expects me to introduce some rating system that would assess each application based on the given answers. Do you know about any system or methodology of assessing UAT process? Something like CMM/ISO... only for UAT process? Or about any company that would give me some consultations on this topic?

    Thanks a lot.

Yeah, don't use a questionnaire -- questionnaires are a great method for getting the answers you *want*, but a lousy method for getting the information that you *need*.
