Agile Project Tools
Has anyone had any good (or bad) experiences with agile project tools such as Scrumworks or Rally's Project management? What others have you tried or evaluated? What features did you find useful for the agile software development process?
Any feedback would be great.
Re: Agile Project Tools
My last employer used the scrum process with varying success. We had software, firmware and hardware products. We used Scrumworks as the tool, and I was very impressed with it. It seemed very intuitive and like any decent product, it grew with our process maturity.
Agile process worked well for the software development, although the transition was pretty rough. It took a while for all parties to embrace the new direction. Also, we had daily scrum meetings that quickly deteriorated or ran long of not managed well by the scrum masters.
That said, the scrum process did not work well for us on the firmware/hardware side of development. Because firmware was dependent on hardware, and hardware was dependent on supply chain issues, it was difficult to define/adhere to a particular 'sprint' window.
