First of all iam a complete novice at the full workings of an QA system, of which i have just recently been assigned to achieve ISO9001:2000 for our company.
My question is regarding our current document system which incorporates our drawings, procedures etc. We have just upgraded our document system which now means we have two seperate document systems running. The original system is still being used for our current documents and the new system is being used for the documentation of new products.Im not convinced you can do this in a ISO9001:2000 environment.
Can you run two systems like this?
Or does the documents using the original system need upgrading to the current?
Please excuse my bad terminology but iam still a novice.
Its meaningless to have 2 systems running parallelly.
Purpose of QA system is to establish & ensure that defined processes are followed to give a standard quality product.
First of all, since some process is already in place,
1. you review them, & find out whether they are effective & efficient.
2. Look for the gaps/flaws in the project.
3. Fill the gaps.
If need arise, change the process, or add a new process or you can even eliminate a process if it is not contributing to quality
I say, never be complete.
I say, stop being perfect.
I say, let's evolve..
Just to let you know that we have been through both systems and have now decided upon using one defined system and scraping the old one entirely. All relevant documents from the old system will now be upgraded.
