MTP for a project using Agile Methodology
In my company we had always used waterfall methodology for testing. Currently a new trend is being implemented where we must use agile/xp methodology.
Can anyone refer me to site with samples of Master Test Plans or other helpful testing documentation related to this methodology? Thanks in advance!
Re: MTP for a project using Agile Methodology
dessb, in a true agile environment you would not have a master test plan in this way. There would be an iteration/ sprint plan which would have corresponding tests related to it in this manner for coverage and these would be tied in some way.
One of the big challanges with moving to agility is the change in mind set between a pre planned context and the active context where you are interacting and changing with the process, so these big design upfront documents do not remain vital to the delivery.
I work with a variety of agile methods and have found I am evolving and refactoring my concepts and artefacts for each project and specific context.
There are no (as far as I have found) any "agile" templates out there to provide, however there is some excellent dialouge on the agile-testing yahoo group and Lisa Crispin/Tip House's book Testing eXtreme Programming contains a weight of valuable information for the lessons they have learnt in making an early transistion from a "traditional" test organisation to an "agile" test organisation.
