Dear All,
I am a QA in Product development company . I like to know is anybody have any process for Patch release in a Software Product Development.
There is nothing different about a patch release than any other type of release. The install of the patch needs to be tested, the functionality of the change(s) in the patch need to be tested, and any regression testing required also needs to be performed. Depending on your company, some of the formal development processes and signoffs may be streamlined to meet the needs of the business. I've found that patches are often put together to solve "emergency" situations and the process put in place helps get these changes out as quickly as possible. The testing steps remain the same, however.
