@ best practices in our team are.:-
We have a macro enabled excel sheet to capture the work done by the team at any pt of time.
also we have an application named defect logger which will track all the defects reported
Re: Best practices
Here are some best practices that I implement for my projects. The PM, SA, developers, QA, testers all have different roles and tasks to complete. Having a discussion around who does what will document expectations so everybody will know what they need to do. Everybody on the team is responsible for quality. Not just the test lead or testers, but the whole team is responsible. Insert yourself into requirements reviews and design reviews and ask questions. I may not know the business process, but I can still ask clarifying questions that will make the subject matter experts to stop and think. During testing I track defects into Quality Center. The testers will log the defects. I have review meetings to discuss what defects we have open, assign owners, and get an update on defects in process. I hope this helps.
If you are still looking for this information, you may want to be a little more specific. Best practices in what sense? There are standards and best practices for everything from building an automation framework to establishing a testing organization to test plans and test cases. In general, if you're looking for standards on web practices for any given language or tool, check out, W3Schools Sitemap . Otherwise, there are best practices and standards of all sorts spanning a continuous number of QA topics.
Best of luck.
